If you haven’t yet checked the Pyramids of Giza off your bucket list, this could be your sign to plan a trip to Egypt. Air Canada’s Aeroplan program has direct flights to Cairo for just 40,000 points in economy or 70,000 points in business class, plus minimal taxes and fees. And because Aeroplan is a transfer partner of several transferable currencies, almost anyone can book this deal with ease.

Read on to learn how you can book a nonstop flight to Cairo for as few as 40,000 points.

Note that prices and availability were accurate at the time of writing.

  • Airline: EgyptAir via Air Canada
  • Routes: From Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, D.C., to Cairo International Airport (CAI)
  • Best way to book: Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Price: 40,000 points in economy or 70,000 points in business class, plus around $60 in taxes and fees
  • Travel dates: Various dates throughout 2026

Is this a good deal?

Cash fares for this one-way flight to Cairo are currently priced around $560 in economy, so booking with Aeroplan points would give you a value of 1.4 cents per point — right on par with TPG’s January 2026 valuations. Business-class fares cost around $2,210, giving you an even better value of 3.2 cents per point. That makes this a great way to redeem your Aeroplan points.

How to find and book TPG’s deal of the day

We found this deal on Seats.aero, which makes it easy to search Aeroplan for flights to Cairo up to a year out (with a Pro membership). The search results show rates slightly lower than 40,000 points in economy, but these are for connecting flights.

On Air Canada’s website, there’s good availability for 40,000-point economy tickets throughout most of 2026. Business-class fares for 70,000 points are a little more elusive, so use Seats.aero to narrow down your dates before you head to Air Canada’s site to book.

Remember, always confirm availability with the airline before transferring your points or miles.

You’ll still have to pay taxes and fees on your award ticket, but these will only set you back 82 Canadian dollars (around $60) one-way.

If you’re not based near JFK, EWR or IAD, you might consider booking a positioning flight to take advantage of this deal.

If you don’t have enough points in your Aeroplan account, you can earn them quickly with the Aeroplan® Credit Card (see rates and fees), which is offering 60,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.

You can also transfer points to Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio from American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One and Chase Ultimate Rewards. Just be sure to confirm award availability before you transfer points, because transfers are irreversible.

If you’re still short on points, you can buy them from Aeroplan. We generally don’t advise buying points and miles, but it could make sense if you have a great redemption in mind — and right now, Aeroplan is offering up to 100% bonus points when you buy points by Feb. 16.

For example, you could leverage this promotion to buy 70,000 points for CA$1,500 (about $1,094). That’s enough to book a nonstop business-class flight from JFK to CAI but for half the price of a cash ticket ($2,210).

Bottom line

Now is a great time to start planning your 2026 trips, and these flight deals to Cairo are available on a variety of dates throughout the year. We’ve seen wide-open award availability for 40,000 points one-way in economy and slightly more limited availability for 70,000 points one-way in business class, both of which are great deals for a 10-plus-hour transatlantic flight.
