If you’ve got a hotel stay coming up, getting extra points or a discount during your stay is definitely worthwhile.

In addition to the previously-announced dining and Bonus Journeys promotions, there’s a new offer for bonus points on each stay in early 2023 at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels as well as bonus points for select Park Hyatt locations. Let’s take a look at these current World of Hyatt promotions to see what they offer and how you can take advantage of them.

If you have the World of Hyatt Credit Card or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, you can receive 1,000 bonus points on each eligible stay of two nights or more at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties. This promotion requires registration in advance, which you can complete here.

Eligible stays are those between Jan. 2 and March 5, 2023, and only stays completed after registration for the promotion will be eligible for bonus points. Registration is open as of Dec. 1, and you must complete registration no later than Jan. 31, 2023.

For each eligible stay, you can receive 1,000 bonus points — up to a maximum of 25,000 bonus points. It’s worth noting that back-to-back reservations at the same property will only count as one stay (thus only earning bonus points once), even if you check out and then check back in. Qualifying stays for this promotion due include uses of free night awards and award stays using Hyatt points.

Bonus points from this promotion are bonus points, meaning they are not base points that help you accrue World of Hyatt elite status. According to TPG’s latest valuations, 1,000 Hyatt points are worth $17.

There are seven different Park Hyatt properties at which you can earn 2,000 bonus points per stay. This promotion applies only at those particular properties, but there is no minimum number of nights required for your stay to earn the bonus points. Both paid and award stays (including uses of free nights) are eligible for this promotion.

Eligible stays are between Dec. 21, 2022 and Feb. 28, 2023. You must book your stay between Dec. 1, 2022 and Feb. 28, 2023 using the code PARK20 to take advantage of this deal. The full details of the promotion are found here. Participating properties are the Park Hyatt Kyoto, Park Hyatt Tokyo, Park Hyatt Chicago, Park Hyatt Toronto, Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Park Hyatt New York and Park Hyatt Washington, D.C.

For the purposes of this promotion, back-to-back reservations at the same property or booking multiple rooms will not earn extra bonus points. Instead, you will earn points only for the room you actually stay in and only once per stay, regardless of checking out and checking in again.

Normally, you can charge meals to your room when staying at a World of Hyatt property and dining at one of its restaurants.

You’ll earn the standard 5 points per dollar on these charges, plus any applicable elite bonuses. And if you pay with a Hyatt cobranded credit card, you would earn an extra 4 Hyatt points per dollar on these charges.

However, this promotion is targeted toward meals paid for directly with the restaurant — whether you’re staying there and not charging the meal to your room or whether you aren’t staying at the property at all.

From Sep. 15 to Dec. 20, 2022, World of Hyatt members can earn 3 Hyatt points per dollar at participating hotel restaurants worldwide. There’s no registration required in advance — simply provide your Hyatt membership number when paying the bill. This promotion is available whether you’re dining in, ordering delivery or getting takeout. Make sure to check which of these options are available at the participating restaurants.

Note that this promotion is not available at Hyatt’s all-inclusive properties, MGM Resorts, Small Luxury Hotels or on Lindblad Expeditions. There is also a maximum of 100,000 bonus points that you can earn during this promotion, aside from any bonus points you might earn based on your World of Hyatt status.

You can search for participating World of Hyatt restaurants here.

Earn double points and elite credit with Bonus Journeys

This time around, Bonus Journeys offers two different promotions: one for double elite-night credit and one for double World of Hyatt points.

  • Earn double points on qualifying stays of two or more nights at participating Hyatt hotels globally. This promotion is valid for stays between Sept. 15 and Dec. 20.
  • Earn double elite qualifying nights on tier-qualifying nights completed at Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection properties worldwide. This promotion is valid for stays between Sept. 15 and Dec. 20.

If you’re staying at an Inclusive Collection hotel, you’ll earn both double points and elite qualifying credit for your stay. Remember that Hyatt recently added AMR Collection properties to its Inclusive Collection portfolio, meaning you can take advantage of this promotion at more than 65 properties.

Additionally, the double points promotion specifically includes MGM Resort, Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Lindblad Expedition properties. Members earn 5 World of Hyatt points per dollar on all stays, so this bonus means you’ll earn 10 points per dollar (before any elite bonuses). You can earn up to 60,000 bonus points with this promotion.

You can register for this Bonus Journeys promotion on Hyatt’s website. Note that you must book your reservations by Nov. 15, to earn double points and elite nights on your upcoming stays. Hyatt confirmed to TPG that existing reservations are eligible, even if they were booked before registering for the promotion; so, you’ll earn points as long as your stay occurs between Sept. 15 and Dec. 20.

As always, we recommend registering for this promotion even if you don’t have any immediate plans to stay at a Hyatt hotel or resort. This way, you won’t miss out on bonus points or elite night credit if you book a last-minute business trip or vacation that includes a Hyatt stay.

You can also stack Bonus Journeys with Hyatt’s ongoing promotion that offers 500 bonus points for nights at new Hyatt properties worldwide. You can view the current list of eligible properties on Hyatt’s website.

Bottom line

Hyatt is back with more promotions, offering bonus points for each stay to credit card holders, bonus points at a handful of Park Hyatt locations, triple points on dining (even when not staying at a Hyatt property) and another Bonus Journeys promotion.

If you’re a few nights short of qualifying for World of Hyatt elite status this year, consider booking a long weekend at an all-inclusive resort to top up your account. And for the start of 2023, consider whether a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House property fits in with your travel plans to earn 1,000 extra points on each stay of two nights or more.

With these promotions, it’s clear that having a Hyatt credit card in your wallet can help you achieve extra points and higher status tiers even faster with World of Hyatt.
