To kick off the new year, JetBlue is back with its annual Big Winter Sale. One-way flights start as low as $39 across the JetBlue network.

With this deal, JetBlue has gifted travelers time to research and select a deal by next Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Though you can view all of the available routes here, they include flights departing from the New York City area, Miami and Boston, with some international availability.

Once you select your desired route, JetBlue will direct you to its low-fare calendar to pick your dates, as shown below, for this round-trip flight from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Charleston International Airport (CHS) the third week of January.

Although the sale is marketed as a deal for one-way fares, you can either stack two one-way tickets or book a round trip as normal and still get discounted rates. I actually found a flight back to LGA for $44, slightly cheaper than advertised.

As mentioned, the sale prices are for the lowest fares available, which are likely to be Blue Basic tickets. As JetBlue’s most restrictive class, this fare type only allows travelers to bring one personal item that can fit under the seat in front of them. Any full-size carry-on bag brought to the gate will incur a fee and need to be checked. The fee is $65 one-way (for a first or second checked bag) or $180 (for a third bag).

Neither Blue Basic nor Blue include checked baggage, so factor in an additional $35 for your first bag and $45 for your second should you check bags. If you add your bags in advance, you can save $5 off your first two. Change and cancel fees also apply to Basic fares, so consider upgrading for further flexibility.
